Ekiti Assembly Passes 3 Bills, Commits Other For Further Debate May 3, 2023 Heritagenewsng.com By Gbenga Sodeinde The Ekiti State House of Assembly during its plenary on Wednesday passed the State Wealth Fund Bill, 2023 into law. The passage of the bill was sequel to the presentation of the report of the Committee on Investment, Trade and Industry, read by it’s Chairman, Hon. Yemi Osatuyi and it’s adoption by the Committee of the Whole House. The Executive Sponsored bill is one, which seeks to bring about a stable economy, ensuring a secured future financing of the state and to create sustainable wealth to government and the people of the Ekiti. Other bills passed are the Ekiti State Fire Service Bill, 2023, aimed at improving operations of fire service in the state, and the State Local Government Staff Loans Board Bill, 2023, which seeks to ameliorate the difficulties associated with loan assessment among local government staff. The passage of the bills were also sequel to the presentation of reports read by the Chairman, Committee on Public Utility and Infrastructure, Hon Ademola Martins Ojo, on the Ekiti State Fire Service Bill, 2023, and the Chairman, Committee on Public Service Matters, Establishment and Training, Hon. Akin Oso, on the Ekiti State local Government Staff Loans Board Bill, 2023. The bills were considered clause by clause by the Committee of the whole House, chaired by the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Olubunmi Adelugba and passed into law after been read the third time by the Clerk of the House, Mr Tola Esan. Meanwhile, the Yoruba Language preservation and promotion Bill, 2023 was read the first time at the plenary.
