EKITI RULES NIGERIA AS SPEAKER, STATE ASSEMBLY BAG TRAILBLAZERS AWARD IN ICT INTEGRATION ... Our best still loading, says Aribasoye Ekiti house of assembly speaker, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has been awarded as a trailblazer in e-parliament revolution. This came alongside the award presented to the Ekiti legislature in Abuja as the Best State House of Assembly in ICT Integration by the presidency. This twin honour exclusively given to the state followed an online voting process and nationwide nomination conducted across various media platforms for the Nigeria Govtech Public Service Award 2024. The award tagged the Distinguished Govtech Trailblazers award and powered by the federal government was presented at a dinner on Friday at Nicon Luxury Hotel in Abuja. The Ekiti State House of Assembly earlier in the year launched its live streaming platform across several social media outlets to make itself accessible to the entire world. Also, the house has transposed from voice voting to the use of digital pads at plenaries while it is on the verge of unveiling its new comprehensive website and an online TV for legislative news reports and special interviews. The Speaker, accompanied by the Majority Leader , Hon. Tolu Ige and the Minority Leader Hon. Oladele Ogunsakin described the award as a stimulant for more trailblazing initiatives noting that the 7th assembly under his leadership comprised cerebral, ingenious and productive lawmakers. Rt. Hon. Aribasoye thanked the state Governor, Biodun Oyebanji for laying a solid foundation of positive visions and supporting the state assembly at all times to record monumental successes. Meanwhile the Ikole Local Government Legislative Council has congratulated the Speaker and his fellow lawmakers on the awards received. In a press statement signed by the leader of the legislative council, Bode Durogbola, the body commended the diligence of the 7th assembly in performing its statutory duties and supporting the state Governor to deliver on his mandate. With the latest award which attested to the competence, proficiency and transparency of the house, the council said it has passed a vote of confidence on the Rt. Hon.
