END THE FAST, CONTINUE WITH THE LESSONS, EKITI SPEAKER URGES MUSLIMS. The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has advised Muslims in the state and beyond to ensure the lessons of Ramadan are not lost in transit. Aribasoye in a press statement to congratulate the Muslim faithful on the successful completion of the Ramadan fast pointed at the necessity of carrying the lessons of such a sacrificial exercise beyond the period alone, adding that the spiritual exercise should add value and flavour to the lives of participants and the society. The Speaker noted that the holy month of Ramadan teaches tolerance, self denial and unity of purpose urging Muslims to sustain the same spirit and apply it to whatever they consider to be of good report and favourable to humanity. According to him, Ramadan as a cogent pillar of Islam closes the gap between man and his creator noting that anyone who engages in self denial will get prescribed benefits as indicated in the holy books for Muslims and even their Christian counterparts. He preached religious harmony and tolerance noting that it was heartwarming to know that some indigenes outside the Islamic religion handed out various supports to their Muslim brothers during the Ramadan, and that such gestures were also not rejected. Aribasoye emphasized that the concept of value restoration can be significantly actualized via true religions calling on Islamic preachers to further intensify the use of media platforms, worship gatherings and other avenues to preach value, peace and holiness just as they maximised those channels during the Ramadan period. He thanked Allah for the strength and provisions granted those who took up the thirty day exercise, congratulating them for the conclusion. "I thank the Almighty that this fast was conclusive for you our Muslim brothers. It is not easy to take this flight and land safely but we appreciate the most merciful and most benevolent creator who backed you up. I therefore charge you Muslim faithful to ensure that, even though the fast is concluded , the lessons should be continuous. Through this , we shall influence and impact the country positively " Aribasoye advised. Babajide Agbeyo Special Adviser (Media) to the Speaker, Ekiti State House of Assembly.
