*2024 WORKERS DAY: EKITI SPEAKER SALUTES WORKERS, SOLICITS MORE SUPPORT TO GOVERNMENT.* The Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye has congratulated Nigerian workers for witnessing another workers day, saying they remain a major backbone upholding the country. Aribasoye in a press statement described workers as a solid pillar and viable channel through which the works and activities of government are carried out adding that their impact in the private sector could also not be downplayed. The Ekiti assembly speaker commended the perseverance of workers in the country in spite of earning less than what they worth stressing that the sacrifices workers have put into making the nation work are legendary and laudable. Aribasoye who himself worked as a civil servant for more than ten years counselled workers across the state to uphold the typical ethical standards observed by those who pioneered the services in the state and country at large. "I salute and celebrate our workers today even as I take retrospection on the few years I spent as a civil servant. The inputs of workers into the Nigeria project have been outstandingly significant and one should use a day like this to rejoice with them and further pledge sustained support to make their lives and work environment conducive ." Aribasoye Stated. He expressed worry that some workers no more place premium on quality service delivery, values preservation, integrity and self development urging workers no to yield to temptations towards laxity and watery service. Rt. Hon. Aribasoye also solicited more cooperation of workers in the State with the Governor Biodun Oyebanji administration, affirming that the regime has shown awesome commitment to the welfare and well being of serving and retired workers in the state. "Governor Biodun Oyebanji is a wonderful man as far as welfare of workers is concerned. He has always been matching words with action, walking the talk to ensure workers in Ekiti are not handed derogatory treatment. Definitely , he requires more support for optimal delivery. We at the seventh assembly have ensured a supportive relationship with his government so far. I implore workers to do same and exercise patience at any point where desires may not have been accurately met" The speaker pleaded.
